Mountain Pine Ice Cream

Let’s face it, I should have come up with this Pine Ice Cream in time for the winter/Christmas holiday buzz. But I didn’t. The idea hit me last week when I finally found this Dram Pine Syrup. Now my life (and yours) is forever changed. I found the pine syrup (I have been looking for pine flavoring forevahhh!) at my favorite local charcuterie/cheese shop, Over the Moon here in Telluride, CO.

Gotta love small town stores that stock the finest of the fine. Along with this syrup they have my favorite Ski House candle. Which also smells like pine by the way. If you love the Rocky Mountains like I do…then this syrup & ice cream captures those flavors perfectly. I also drizzled on some Pine Honey.

With red sprinkles this becomes oh so festive…you can bookmark & pin this recipe for next Christmas. Your holiday guests will be wowed by your creativity. Or don’t wait. Make some today! The flavor is not too intense in this ice cream, it is perfectly sweet with the essence of brisk, airy mountain flavors. Homemade ice cream is simple to prepare. As long as you have a handy dandy ice cream maker then you are in great shape to experiment & go for it!

  1. Oooh, I gotta go find me some of that stuff! I keep meaning to make my own pine-y things, but always assume that involves foraging or whatever. This looks fantastic!

  2. Hi! I just found you through a food photography community on google+. I have to admit that I was super intrigued by the pine syrup (being a gin lover – it sounds to die for). Then you mentioned in your post that you’re from Telluride! It’s my most favorite place in the world. My husband and I spent our honeymoon there, it’s our favorite ski spot, and we come back for the Blues and Brews every year we can with our two daughters. Heaven on earth, that little box canyon.

Anyway, I’m glad I stumbled upon this. I’ll be sure to pin it and come back to visit for more recipes!

    1. Hi Jessica, thanks so much for stopping by! Isn’t Telluride the most magical place ever….each day I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to finally move here. Only took a decade 😉 The skiing has been great this year. Hopefully next time you guys are in town you can track down this pine syrup at Over the Moon. We can meet there for a glass of wine!
