Blissful Pear Martini

Pear Martinis. Yes, they are blissful and I probably don’t need to explain why. If you are a pear lover that is. This cocktail  is a true taste of summer! I had my first experience with a drink like this at the New Sheridan Chop House here in Telluride, CO. Now it is my favorite…but do not fear. I still have flings with bourbon.

If you are looking for a crisp, cool, kinda sweet (but not too sweet ) cocktail then this might become your favorite too. Martini glasses are very elegant but rather silly when you are a smidge tipsy, dont’cha think? They are kinda tricky to balance without spilling. Maybe it keeps one from drinking too much. Hmmmmmm?

Anywhoos…they are pretty to hold and made even tastier with Grey Goose La Poire Vodka. Don’t worry…if it is tricky to find Le Poire, plain vodka will do ya just fine. Next time you have a cocktail party, I highly recommend these martinis. Pear finely balanced with a twist of lemon, a splash of sparkling water (or sparkling pear water)…and of course the booze.

  1. Oh my that looks so good, Marla! I bet it goes down soooo easily! The photos are excellent, too. I find shooting martinis very hard. The reflective nature of both the glass and the drink itself cause my camera to get very confused! Thanks for the link, too.

    Pinned!

  2. Your photos are stunning!! And I agree I love a good martini, especially a sweet one but the glasses are a bit cumbersome. Especially when filled to the brim as soon as you lift to sip you spill ( or at least I do) some of the drink! I prefer cocktails in mason jars with handles. Something sturdy!! The pear sounds delicious. I will have to try this!

  3. this winter I had a version of a Cosmo with pear vodka and now I am completely obsessed. It’s amazing how hard it can be to find though!! Rows and rows of every possible flavor- except pear! I didn’t know Grey Goose made it, until now I’ve only seen Absolute Pear. So happy to have another brand to hunt for- and I’m making this drink tonight. Looks delish!!

    1. Right? When I tried a similar pear martini at a local restaurant I was immediately smitten. Maybe the pear Grey Goose is more of a summer flavor? At least you found the Absolut for now!! Enjoy!
