Happy July 4th! Telluride Style

Howdy! Wow ~ is it July 4th already?! This is the most amazing time of year. The streets of our stunning box canyon will be filled with locals & visitors, all here to celebrate Independence Day.

Folks say about 4000 people will line our main street. All decked out in red, white & blue. They will watch people (and pets) riding decorated bikes, floats, motorcycles & marching….everyone with giant smiles from ear to ear. Here’s a peek at July 4th! Telluride Style.

In the evening we are graced with a stunning fireworks presentation, also put on by our firemen. We couldn’t blast them last year because of wild fires. But this year ~ we have a 2 year stash! Oh yeahhhh.

  1. I love this! I think it is so great that you celebrate your country and EVERYONE takes part. Here in Germany this is a difficult topic – even now when we won the Soccer World Championchip and people were celebrating, there were a lot of people (also germans) who said “Oh, this is too patriotic. It is not okay to be sooo proud of our country and to celebrate because we won the WM…” and so on….
I think it is important to celebrate positive things…we all live in such great countries and are so blessed for that. So we all have reason to celebrate 🙂 As long as we don’t think our countries are better than others i don’t see any harm in that.

Oh wow. Now i wrote more than i wanted. Keep on celebrating, i just love it! The pictures are great, too. I think I have to visit Telluride when i travel to the US.

    Love,

    1. Hi Franziska! I love what you wrote here & I totally agree. We should all be able to celebrate life & JOY whenever we wish, without others trying to bring us down. Congrats to Germany for such a great accomplishment. I hope to travel there sometime in the next few years. I hear it is gorgeous. I sure hope the people know how to take pride in what they have ~ makes for a much happier place to live. Please let me know if you ever plan a trip to Telluride ~ around here we celebrate everything!
