Hear me out. I get it. I have already teased you with fallΒ pumpkinΒ recipes and here I am bringing you cool popsicles. Here is the deal. In Southern California the days start off grey, foggy and a little chilly. By the afternoon the sun is scorching hot and we crave cold sips and icy pops. I made these for the kids when we were in Telluride.

I surprised them with Tutti-Frutti Coconut Chocolate Pops after camp.Β Now we enjoy them after school…..

That was a perfect bluebird day in the Rockies. See those puffy clouds. They were beautiful to gaze upon while licking frozen treats….

Making popsicles is super easy and stress free. Use whatever frozen or fresh fruit you have around the house.

It is a great way to munch on a few servings of fruit and if you add some yogurt, milk, or cream….you get a little bit of healthy fat and some protein too. You can keep things vegan with coconut, almond or soy milk.

If you don’t have pop molds simple use dixie cups instead. Easy peasy.Β Even though you can’t put these pops in the lunch box (you could pack a smoothie version…hmmmm) You could toss a batch in the freezer for after school snacks. 1. This is such a great snack – I’m happy eating popsicles and ice cream all year round and it feels like such a treat to have something like this. I’m definitely going to make a batch this weekend!

  2. These look almost as beautiful as your adorable children! It’s true- popsicles always keep the kids busy and quiet for a few moments- and these look like nothing to feel guilty about with their healthy ingredients!

  3. I too, have been making pops using yogurt and fresh fruit. Sometimes after school snack is a smoothie but mostly the kids can easily grab one of these out of the freezer. Great combo, Marla!

  4. Yummy! Chocolate and coconut, 2 of my favorites!
Great idea to grab a couple as an after school snack!
Love the photos of the kids in telluride. xo

  5. Those look so perfect. I love the flavors and colors. And I totally know what you mean about this weather. It’s dreary right now but I bet by this afternoon it will be sunny and warm again. I do wish we got a bit more fall-like weather in SoCal.

    1. Hi Cate! I bet all year round icy pops would be great in Honolulu. If you can’t get your hands on pop molds use some little Dixie cups instead. You just let them sit out for a few minutes after freezing & then peel off the little cups πŸ™‚

  6. Love the popsicles..they look so creamy and delish. Coconut milk + bananas is a winning combo and then add fruit (and chocolate!) and you’re in business.

Gorgeous photos…working with items that melt and the pressure of TIME on a photo shoot is not easy!

    1. Hi Leanne, this weather is odd but normal for here. Girl, I just want fall to show up & stick around for reals. Heck, we would still eat the pops!

  7. it’s so funny, because I noticed it was 97 degrees today! So NOT fall weather! Gotta love so cal :-)! I just made a milkshake the other day, so I am all for these fruity coconut pops! My daughter would love these too! She is teething right now, and only likes to eat cold things πŸ™‚

  8. This look wonderful. I made a smoothie this morning that was fruits and spinach and although it sounds crazy, I bet adding the pureed spinach would be a fun way to get kids to eat more veggies πŸ™‚

    1. Love the idea G. I know folks love spinach in fruit smoothies. Think I will make the popsicle version popular next. Wanna join me in this movement?

  9. Marla, I saw these popsicle molds the other day at Santa Monica, and I was so tempted to buy them because I remember your last popsicle posts. The way you tempt us with your gorgeous pictures!

    1. Thanks Sophia! Did you get the molds? I think I want to start a pop mold collection over here to keep things interesting πŸ˜‰ What shape were the ones you saw in Santa Monica?

  10. I always pour any leftover green smoothie into popsicle molds. My 4 yr old won’t eat the greens as smoothies, but she will as popsicles. I LOVE IT!

  11. Hi! Just made them and they were so tasty!!! However mine turners out light brown/beige in color. Do you know why? Also can I add a little honey or agave nectar to this? Thanks!

    1. Hi Samantha! Not sure why your pops were that color. I have noticed that some coconut cream can take on an off-white hue. That might be it. Perhaps you can experiment with a few brands.

  12. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I’ll make an adaptation for my littles soon, I’m sure πŸ™‚ Just a quick question… Where did you get those cute shoes for your daughter? My daughter would love a pair of practical and yet chic shoes like that, I’m sure! πŸ™‚ Thanks!!

    1. Hi Hawley! I so wish I could help you with those shoes. Shot that photo a few summers ago & I have no clue where we got them. Sadly, because I would love to share the source with you & buy my daughter and myself a pair!
