This past winter I was in Zermatt, Switzerland, the home of the Matterhorn, excellent skiing & the most amazing family owned restaurantΒ Chez Vrony.
A more detailedΒ post on this rustic cafe will happen…but in the mean time happy Friday & I hope you have a spectacular happy hour ~ with theseΒ Cafe Leni cocktails!
This weekend is super busy here in Telluride, CO. We have our final BIG summer festival Blues & Brews. A three day weekend packed with amazing music, great friends & lots of photography.
I have a media pass so i’ll be reporting a lot & posting to InstagramΒ & Twitter to keep you in the loop. The front liner bands include the Violent Femmes, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic andΒ Peter Frampton. Many more bands as well throughout the weekend!
Last year the festival was a giant mud pit ~ the rain kept a coming. But this year the skies will be bluebird & the temps in the 70’s. Perfect festival weather! It will look like this outside…
OK. Now back to warming cocktails.
And the Swiss Matterhorn… (can you you tell how much I adore the mountains!) That’s the view from Chez Vrony.
When you areΒ skiing hard nothin’ is better than Swiss Raclette & a Cafe Leni (maybe a glass of wine in the mix too!)
This cocktail will be your go to fall/winter treat. Pinky promise. If you are gonna try it this weekend great, you will be glad you did.
Isn’t Amaretto divine? Mixed with espresso & whipped cream even more so. This is the perfect fireplace & dessert cocktail.
If you are gonna bookmark it for the cooler weather (our mornings are all ready in the 30’s) then please do so.
Pin it too while your at it….
This drink is served with steamy espresso on the side. I like to sip the Amaretto & whipped cream & then some coffee. When about half way through the glassΒ I pour in the espresso into the shot glass.
The combination is heavenly!
Here’s to a great weekend!
Oh by the way. Here’s another coffee cocktail you gotta try. A frozen version…Roasted Marshmallow Coffee Cocktail Shakes
Enjoy!

Thanks so much Rosa, coming from you that means a whole bunch π xxoo
Yes please, I could never say no to Amaretto and whipped cream! π
This sounds like the best kinda cocktail – would it be bad if I had one for breakfast? π
Ha! Not sure. Maybe a brunchy breakfast π
First ever drink (underage) in a bar was an amaretto sour! Love the stuff! I would adore this drink, Marla! Pinned π
Isn’t it funny how we always remember our first underaged bar cocktail? Mine was a blue hawaiian. Eek!
Oh my gosh, I loved The Violent Femmes back in the day!
Gorgeous. I love that this drink is served with hot espresso! Pinned!
definitely saving this for cooler weather…looks delish!
Wow! This looks fantastic. I am always looking for cold-weather cocktails to warm me from the inside out, so this is perfect! Pinning!
Awesome! Hopefully you can indulge in this soon Holly π
LOVE this. Even if I’m not a ski-er, I feel as though I can get the experience (or at least the part of the experience I want) from this tasty potable.
Ha! You certainly can. The great part about Chez Vrony, is you can hike to it to enjoy the entire “ski” experience.
Wonderful! And it is getting that time of year when this kind of drink would be a pure pleasure.
