Ever realize that you wished Monday was Friday, but not Friday to be Monday? Here we go kickin off a new week and I am all ready thinking about the weekend. There have been lots of end ‘o ski season parties here in Telluride. We had a fantastic ski season and are looking forward to a bright and cheerful spring. For big & little cowgirls and cowboys, I came up with this Cowgirl Cooler cocktail recipe. This strawberry fruit smoothie can be enjoyed as healthy frozen smoothie (alcohol free) or with a whiskey kick.
Let’s saddle up & learn more about this libation. Let’s also pretend that Monday is Friday… or at least dream about it.
You probably figured all my talk about strawberry this ‘n that was leading somewhere…somewhere larger than Strawberry Sauce. Right? Maybe?
Maybe……
Maybe it’s all that rootin tootin gun shootin on the weekends. Maybe it’s ’cause I live in a town filled with Western sass. Did you know Butch Cassidy lived here in Telluride? He worked on ranches and then proceeded to rob the San Miguel Valley Bank a whopping $21,000.00. Not a very nice thing to do to the quaint small town you call home!
A splash of Jack Daniels or your favorite whiskey/bourbon is a zinger twist to the usually rum/triple sec daiquiri. Without the whiskey this puréed fruity drink could be part of a juice cleanse. With it, obviously not. This is a skinny cocktail, made of pure fruit and sweetened with stevia.
You choose what is most needed….a kick or a cleanse…..

Hi Tieghan, check out Malerie’s comment below. She found the mugs for you guys 🙂
That looks so nice and cool and refreshing!
Love the mention of juice cleanse. Yes, did that. That was 2 weeks ago. This week..I’m ready for a cowgirl cooler. Adorable mug and great title!
I know you did that cleanse. The caffeine withdrawal would have had me quite after the first 3 hours 😉
Such a pretty drink!
Too cute and so creative, Marla! I’m patiently waiting for local strawberries around here. =)
Those local berries are the best…used to get loads of ’em in CA. Here in Telluride we will find some teeny tiny wild berries when the weather warms up. Will be fun!
what a great way to start off Monday, Marla!! I LOVE those boot glasses – they’re too cute!!
Your cowboy/girl jars are too darn cute! We’re big on smoothies lately so I’ll have to give your recipe a try soon.
I love those cute little boot glasses!! I could go for a cooler, Monday or not 🙂
Ahhhh so refreshing! It’s almost warm enough to make these and sit out on the deck!
Ok, those little cowboy jars are the cutest!! Adorable!
Pour in that bourbon…this looks like the perfect way to kick off spring!
Ha! Yup….pour it in 😉

Awwwww, thanks Bridget! That is so cool that you could recognize my style 😉
Adorable. Will probably need to do a virgin version for my little girl who fell in love with the cowgirl glasses. 🙂
And, wherever did you get those cute straws?
Adroable serving glass. Shoot who cares if its Monday! Cheers!
Best way to pretend Monday’s are Fridays are with cocktails! I have one on my blog today too! This one looks so refreshing too. Makes me wish for really warm weather 🙂

I think every Monday needs a cowgirl cooler!
Recipe itself is interesting but this glass in a shape of a shoe has just stole my heart.
Oh yea! This looks amazing, Marla. Perfect for those sticky hot summer nights in Texas. Saving this to try soon!
Pretending it’s Friday right with you! 😉
These look so good, and so cute in that glass!
Oh, my stars! This is MY kinda cooler! Love that you used stevia for natural sweetening, Marla. And, a li’l kick o’ JD whiskey to boot! LOVE this…and, the way it is served in li’l boot mugs!
Thanks so much Stacy! Better without all that sugar….and with the kick 😉
Have you ever tried any other types of whiskey? I’m partial to irish, scotch or canadian, wondering if those would be a good mix? This is a great idea!
I say go for it. I also enjoy Jameson and would totally put that in this 🙂 Let me know if you try!
so cute Marla! I searched and found the mugs here:
