Well hello & happy Friday!
What is a Dirty Shirley Cocktail anyways? Remember all those innocent, bright red (virgin) Shirley Temples you threw back as a kid? My kids are obsessed with those by the way.
Well, this drink is Shirley all grown up, kinda kinky & dirtied up with booze. *gasp* & *hooray*
While we are talkin’ dirty, lets also talk weekend…
Hope you had a great week. I did, but it was super busy. I was in the car a lot more than usual & this weekend I just want to chill out.
With Shirley.
My super fancy stemware from MacKenzie Childs makes this Shirley super dressed up & happy. Not to mention refreshing & delicious.
I used grown up Morris Kitchen Grenadine syrup that I purchased from Over the Moon here in Telluride. This syrup is ruby red grenadines ritzy cousin. It does not rely on heaps of food coloring to bring it to life.
My Dirty Shirleys are a bit squeaky clean & sophisticated at the same time.
Grey Goose Cherry Noir is the spirit & Bruce Cost Ginger Beer bubbles things up. Don’t forget the maraschino cherries…
Did you know that Grenadine used to be made from pomegranate juice, sugar, and water? These days most varieties are just food coloring & fake stuff. If you don’t want that then look for one like this.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
