Do you like the Blues? Do you LOVE the idea of a vintage train that takes you way high into the Colorado mountains? Do ya love great views? Wine, beer & fun loving people?
If you answered YES to all or most of those questions then the Durango Blues Train just might be your thing….It sure is mine!
The Durango Blues Train is a moving musical experience aboard the Historic Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
The train starts & finishes each night in downtown Durango, Colorado.
There are 2 bands and 4 solo/duo artists performing live blues on the train with a sound system in each coach.
The neat thing is the sounds does not transfer from coach to coach ~ each car a unique sensory experience.
My bestie & I were invited on this super cool adventure. We made the most of our mini vacation. We started with a leisurely drive from Telluride to Durango, CO.
We took selfies…of course!
And snacked on donuts from Baked in Telluride…which one has your name on it?
Cranberry Muffins too…
We were so excited to board this vintage steam train.
In every effort to keep up with up with the vintage southwest style…we dressed in our cowgirl duds.
We stayed at the General Palmer which is right next to the station. Soooo easy & stylish with a historic Victorian vibe.
We drank wine & beer & had plenty of room to dance…I balanced carefully to take pictures of everything.
With the train rocking back & forth it was pretty funny how I had to anchor myself with my cowboy boot clad feet.
Hope to see y’all in August!
