Well hello there!
Hope you had a fabulous July 4th and are gearing up for a fun weekend! Recently I had the most amazing dinner at the New Sheridan Chop House here in Telluride, CO. I couldn’t wait to share the experience with you.
This is a visual journey, you can get a more into the finer details over at Telluride Inside & Out. I am looking forward to being a regular culinary contributor over there…so pop on over to say hi!
I enjoyed this dinner with a super cool pals.
The service was nothing short of fabulous and the food brought our palates on a tasteful journey around the world.
We enjoyed 4 tasting courses. Our tastebuds were wowed the whole time.
I started with the pear martini. My pal had this beautifully colored, delicious Devils Kiss cocktail. I’ve got the recipe & I’m thinking this will be an upcoming blog post. Stay tuned.
Do you think the waiter knew his shirt matched this cocktail? Hmmm…..
I’m always game for sashimi. The Hamachi Crudo was perfectly seasoned and was topped with the best crispy onions. A fun twist on sashimi.
Not only was the food & drink exceptional but Chef Erich Owen presented each dish to us with lovely descriptions.
His passion for food is awe inspiring!
He is also easy on the eyes. Just sayin’
I need to get my hands on a Chop House ball cap…pronto!
If you live here in our tiny box canyon or if you visit us….chances are you will make a trip to the Chop House. Not only is dinner a delight…so is brunch & lunch.
Food selections are seasonal and the ingredients are super fresh & sourced locally when available. Below is Grouper prepared sous vide and poached in olive oil. Crazy good. Not to mention it is paired with my favorite Japanese mushrooms.
We also had a cold smoked Kobe beef that the Chop House sources from Eastern Idaho’s Snake River Farms.
Each course was accompanied by a well chosen wine. The Chop House is know for it’s extensive wine collection.
In the mood for just cocktails? Not a problem…you can also have fun at the  New Sheridan Historic Bar or the Parlor. The Parlor is a cafe and wine bar. The best of both worlds!
Let’s take a quick peek at dessert….
Yep. That sure does tempt huh! It’s called Fruit Seduction.
We’re talkin’ a snickerdoodle cookie on top of grilled pineapple cradled by banana’s foster with bourbon caramel sauce….oh yes!
Next up….Flourless Chocolate Cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse & a raspberry center. Accompanied by Malted Banana Ice Cream….need I say more?
a bit more….
Looking to spend the night too? You can reserve a room at the stunning victiorian, historic New Sheridan Hotel. Which was rated #5 in the Condé Nast  as the Best Ski Hotel. It’s right in the heart of town…so you will never miss a beat.
No matter which aspect of the New Sheridan you indulge in you are sure to be greeted by the finest staff all whom are managed by the awesome Ray Farnsworth.
In the warmer months you can dine outside or inside. Either way you get the unique Telluride experience…history meets charm , elegance & cheerful mountain/country grit.
See you at the Chop House!
A lovely restaurant!
Cheers,
Rosa
