Recipe: Giant Halloween Candy Skillet Cookie

 1 cup white sugar
 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
 1 cup butter, melted
 2 large eggs
 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 2 cups all-purpose flour
 2 cups leftover Halloween candy, chopped (plus 1/2 cup for topping)
 cooking spray for skillet

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit with the rack in the middle.

Spray a 12 inch cast iron skillet with cooking spray, set aside.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, mix the sugars and butter on medium speed with the paddle attachment about 3 minutes until well combined and light in color. Turn the speed to low and mix in the eggs, vanilla, salt and flour until well combined.

Fold in the 2 cups of candy with a spatula. Pour the batter into the prepared cast iron skillet. Smooth the top of the batter with the back of the spatula.

Top the batter with the 1/2 cup chopped candy. Bake for 35 minutes, cookie will be golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool in the skillet until ready to serve.

Remember that cast iron skillet stay hot for a while so be careful when handling!
