Little girl in tree by Marla Meridith

You guys wowed me with your Summer Happy Post link ups. You certainly spread the cheer by popping over and adding so many great links. Stay tuned….periodically I will publish Happy Posts. I figure things that strikes my fancy might make you smile too. Hosting a virtual party by sharing links makes it all the more fun.

Thanks for all your submissions. Each and every one inspires. Take the time to go through them if you can, there are really amazing ideas out there! Here are a few that I want to share today……

Take note the photos above are mine. The rest of them in this post are from the bloggers featured. Lots of pretty blog posts. Thanks for sharing your finest…..

I was dazzled by this post by Food, Football and a Baby. Michelle made David Lebovitz’s Classic Vanilla Ice Cream and then topped it with Fresh Cherry Drizzle Sauce. The name of the recipe in and of itself is a pleasure. You can dash to her blog for the recipe. Look at the gorgeous photo of her sweet daughter picking cherries

OK, you also need to gawk at the ice cream. Really.

This “Spaghetti” from Perry’s Plate is actually zucchini! Natalie topped it with pesto sauce, bits of smoky bacon and broccoli florets. Yes, I did say bacon. You might want to make this one pronto!

I am in love with this dish! And her blog….

Sweet little Banana Coconut Ice Cream Sandwiches via Sumptuous Spoonfuls…need I say more? Ann made these for National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.

In her About page she wants you to know this ~ “I am not a chef–actually, I am an engineer. I just love to cook, and I love to share what I cook with my friends.” Thanks for putting on your chef’s hat Ann!

This Easy Strawberry Sorbet by Cookin’ Canuck looks like the perfect summer treat. Light, refreshing and as she says easy.

All this little number takes is 3 ingredients: strawberries, sugar and lemon juice. Thanks Dara!

  1. wow, Marla – this is so beautiful. I love looking at all of the photos and the great ideas (not a jello lover, but so in love with that jello ring). You are so generous, giving, and inspiring. So glad you are my friend! xx

    1. Susan, I am not a fan of Jell-O either, but I couldn’t resist sharing Greg’s stunning creation! Not sure I would have the patience for all those layers 🙂
Your cookies are so munchable…love the idea of a strawberry shortcake all wrapped up in a little cookies. Best of luck entertaining those 300 guests today.
Happy to be an inspiration back.

  2. Marla – love the idea of Happy Posts, brings a smile to my face and I’m sure all your readers. We all need some “happy” things to look at throughout the year – it makes me pause and appreciate all that I have. Thanks so much for including my Tuna Marinara post!

  3. Wow, Marla, great foodie finds! I love seeing the blogs you read regularly and the amazing food you’ve spied on their sites. Gorgeous food AND gorgeous photography..such a treat to find in the ‘sphere!

The pancakes look so delicate and perfect and that Jello mold..have seen similar things like that…I cannot imagine making all those layers so they don’t run and bleed together!

    1. Averie, though Jell-O is not my bag I thought that was dang crafty. The nice thing about this event is that I got to “meet” a bunch of new fab bloggers.

  4. Oh Marla, thank you so much for including me 🙂 Even if I feel like a bit of a fraud, that cherry recipe was so simple. For me, cherries really are the height of summeriness.

Love all the posts here, especially that jello. Its so pretty. And I am looking forward to trying out the shortcake cookies as well.

I have been visiting all the ‘happy posts’ that linked up and you’re so right, they truly bring a smile to my face. I hope you continue this idea.

    Cheers!

    Michelle

  5. All those beautiful photos make me happy! The most gorgeous is the photo of your beautiful daughter! Wow! Amazing! Happy labor day! P.s. Friday is marla’s birthday!!!!!!

    1. Thanks Angie! Shhhhh, don’t tell them my b’day is coming up 😉 Isn’t that photo of my little gal fun. When I picked them up from camp I snapped those this summer. They begged me to put the camera down. Of course. Can’t wait to hear about C’s party today. xo

  6. Thank you Marla! Great highlights from your link-up! I think that jello ring stole the show…. gorgeous and so summery! (Like a few of you, I’m not a jello fan either, but I think I’d be willing to take a crack at that. My kids would love it. :))

  7. Marla, thanks for including me and I must say that your daughter is absolutely beautiful. What a stunning photo of her! Hope you had a great weekend.

  8. Oh Marla, this was a fantastic round-up!! Thanks for sharing, and now I’ve got work to do! Have to read up on all of these gorgeous submissions…
