The Best Homemade Salsa Recipe

When it comes to salsa (and margaritas) I’m a purist. I don’t like things too sweet and I love when all the ingredients balance perfectly with one another. This really is The Best Homemade Salsa Recipe I’ve ever tried and believe me, I’ve been experimenting for years. The ingredients are simple and the flavor is huge. Adjust the spices and cilantro to your preference. If you don’t like heat, then don’t add any. If you love your salsa fiery hot, then you have plenty of room here to add more!

 1 (14.5 ounce can) whole peeled tomatoes
 1 (10 ounce can) diced tomatoes & green chilies
 1/2 red onion (about 1/2 cup chopped)
 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (adjust to your liking)
 juice from 1/2 fresh lime
 1 garlic clove, coarsely chopped
 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
 1 teaspoon chili powder
 1/2 jalapeno, rough chop with seeds
 salt to taste

Pulse all ingredients in a food processor or blender until combined & you get your preferred constancy. Adjust spices & cilantro to taste.
