Alaska Cruising on the Carnival Legend

There are so many wonderful things to share from my Carnival Cruise to Alaska. I could go on about this trip forever. Here are some of my very favorite moments…

There is so much to do on (and off) a cruise, something for everyone! On sea days I hung out on my balcony & the ship decks gazing upon all the natural beauty. There was lots of epic views, breathtaking snow peaks everywhere. When the weather was warm enough I did walking laps around the upper deck for exercise. When it was blustery outside, I enjoyed the fitness center at the front of the ship.

All of those great views & exercise made me super hungry for all the amazing bites on board the Legend!

I spent a great amount of time at the Serenity Adult Only Retreat. A quiet place aft on the ship to curl up, enjoy a good book and great cocktail.

For a more wild time & something the kids on board LOVED was this slide…

One of the highlights of this cruise was Glacier Bay, Alaska. All the guests lined the decks to take in the astounding glacier, leaping whales & crisp air. A naturalist detailed everything for us over the loud speaker. It was awesome! As you can imagine I took loads of pictures. These are some of my favorites…

Viewing day was perfectly sunny and the air was cool & refreshing.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience. I spoke with many guests who had waited their entire lives to see these glaciers. Their smiles & excitement was huge!

The Food…

I indulged on delish food & drink while on board the ship. One of my favorite meals was the Brunch at Sea where I always treat myself to a bagel with lox & cream cheese. It was hard to choose though, the entire menu is so tempting! One of my other favorites includes the Huevos Rancheros.

I also attended a Chef’s Table Dinner which was a multi course meal filled with brilliantly prepared bites by one of the ships Master Chefs. You do need to sign up ahead for this dinner and pay a $75 fee for this special, unforgettable event. The experience is so worth it! Be sure to reserve your spot as only 14 guests can enjoy this dinner.

We were greeted with champagne & appetizers in the kitchen galley. We also had a galley tour and met the expert kitchen staff. I had also experienced this dinner on the Carnival Cruise to Mexico last year. It’s a dinner I can’t miss out on! Check out those pictures.

My favorite place to dine on the ship is the Steakhouse, I went there 3 times!

Who could resist this fresh tomato salad?

Filet Mignon | MarlaMeridith.com ( @marlameridith )

All balanced out with a prime juicy filet mignon!

Banana Cream Pie | MarlaMeridith.com ( @marlameridith )

And the most delicious Banana Cream Pie. Sinking a fork into this and enjoying each bite was the perfect foodie experience. I even ordered an extra slice to bring back to my stateroom.

Don’t forget to check out these posts too highlighting my trip to Alaska, The Alaska Cocktail, Epic Alaska! (my offshore excursions) and a delish recipe inspired by my travels Salmon Quinoa Salad.

This post was created for Away We Go with Carnival, the destination for getting in the getaway state of mind. Head on over.

    1. We are going on this trip on Sept. 8th. So excited. Glad your experience was so good and hope ours will be too. Been once before with other family members but my husband and I are going with just ourselves (+/- another couple of thousand people). He proposed marriage on the last trip so that will be hard to follow.
