Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour in Keystone, CO. Within one second I responded….YES! All sorts of bacon creations were well represented… I certainly knew I was in great company… People here take their smoked pig (& beer) very seriously! We all had one thing on common ~ Bacon Lovers Unite! There were plenty of savories. French Fries with Cheesy Bacon Sauce kicked things off for us. There were lots of sweets too…here’s a Bacon S’more & Caramel Sundae with Bourbon Bacon Bits… Chocolate & Vanilla Cupcakes with Bacon Whipped Cream… We got our bacon on with lots of hungry folks. As the name says this festival is a tour. You can eat your bacon in Keystone & a few other locations across the country. Looking back on all of these photos is making me so hungry! The next day I had the opportunity to hike my bacon off with some amazing ladies! Our guide was very knowledgeable & hilarious. In the winter I skied Keystone (see Savor the Slopes) & it was so fun to take in the summer wildlife, flowers and get in some vertical mountain views. You can hike & mountain bike the mountain on your own or with a group of very educated guides. I learned so much on our excursion that I highly recommend you book a guided hike too. It was interesting to learn the history of the ski resort, about the neighboring fourteeners & to just giggle with girl talk! There were also people tubing in the last bits of snow… Hope to see y’all in Keystone next summer for bacon & hiking!
