As soon as I saw photos of this island I freaked out and immediately added it to the top of my travel hotlist! Burano, Italy is a teeny, tiny island located just a short boat ride away from Venice. I had the opportunity to check it out last September en route back from my trekking tour of the Dolomites. Candy colors pop every where in this magical paradise.
Burano is a quaint fishing village & it’s also know for it’s famous needle lace. It’s a place to enjoy life’s simple pleasures at a way slower pace. My camera was glued to my face other than when I dove into a stunning plate of locally caught seafood.
Enjoy this rainbow colored tour!
I bet your favorite color can be found somewhere!
I was swooning over all the peaches, reds, violets, greens, pinks, blues, etc….
Just like in Venice, the main way of transport is by boat.
Here’s the needle lace. It’s so precious on the children’s clothes!
Seafood lovers look out! Do eat everything on your plate..each bite is heavenly!
After lunch take another stroll, enjoy some gelato, sip some vino and soak up the warm sunshine!
You only need 3-4 hours for the boat ride and to enjoy Burano. It’s some of the best time you will ever spend. Truly memorable…and obviously terrific photo ops galore! XO
