This Bourbon Hot Chocolate is like a giant hug in a glass on a chilly fall or winters day!

3 tbsp dutch process cocoa powder (use the best quality you can get)
3 cups 2% or whole milk
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (use the best quality you can get)
3 tbsp granulated sugar
6-8 ounces your favorite bourbon
lightly sweetened whipped cream
dash of nutmeg

Make the hot chocolate: In a sauce pan bring 3/4 cup of water to a boil. Add the cocoa powder and whisk to combine. Reduce the heat, add the milk and bring to a simmer (do not boil) Whisk in the chocolate and sugar, making sure there are no lumps. Whisk often and simmer until the chocolate is melted and creamy about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and add bourbon to taste. Pour into mugs and top with pillows of whipped cream and nutmeg.
