Recipe: Lemon Basil Martini

This Lemon Basil Martini is so refreshing on a hot summers day!

 2 tablespoons basil simple syrup
 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
 1 ounce St. Germaine
 2 ounces Le Citron Vodka
 top with tonic water
 fresh chopped basil in the glass
Basil Simple Syrup
 1 cup granulated sugar
 1 cup water
 6 chopped basil leaves

'--Basil Simple Syrup:

Bring sugar, water & basil to a boil. Stir so the sugar dissolves. Discard basil & chill syrup in a jar in the fridge until ready to use. This syrup stays fresh for up to a week.

Martini

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the basil syrup, lemon juice, St. Germaine & vodka. Shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with sliced basil & tonic water.
