Celebrate the weekend with a juicy cocktail. It’s time for you to unwind, right?! Freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice are the perfect compliment to the sweet melon flavored liquor. No need for those overly sweet sour mixes when you can make your own pure citrus syrup.
Make the sour mix: In a small saucepan bring the sugar & water to a boil.Stir well to combine.
Remove from the heat & let cool. Squeeze in the lemon & lime juice with a citrus press.
This sour mix will last for one month in the refrigerator.
To make the cocktail: Rub a lemon or lime around the rim of a glass. Put some coarse salt onto a shadow plat. Dip the glass into the salt & roll it until its coated in salt.
Fill a cocktail shaker 1/2 way with ice. Add the Midori & sour mix. Shake well. Pour into an ice filled old fashioned or high ball glass. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge & a maraschino cherry,
