Sometimes you crave a sweet treat……but you want somethin’ a little more on the healthy side.
These Skinny Dark Chocolate Trail Mix TrufflesΒ will keep ya in that teeny tiny bikini & those skinny jeans. They are gluten free, grain free, dairy free and perfect for those on a Paleo diet.
Dig in…
Why are these truffles a bit more “skinny” than other treats?
Well that’s easy…..they are sweetened with stevia. Not sugar.
These truffles are simple to prepare and there is no need to turn on that oven.
Just melt some chocolate…..add some healthy mix-ins and roll ’em.
The mix-in’s?
A little bit of coconut…lots of nuts (pecans and walnuts). Sunflower seeds and tiny Zante currants.
Turn on those country tunes (or whatever you love to listen to) and roll truffles.
It’s fun!

Pinned!
And you made little balls look gorgeous! It is not easy to do when photographing something small and dark. I have made a few in my day and know what it’s like. I love that wooden stump-like prop! So cool!
Thanks Averie….certainly a challenge to photograph the “ball” type recipes. So glad you like what I did with them!
What a unique idea, Marla! These would be perfect for those times when I’m craving something, but don’t want to go down that guilty full-fat dessert road.
Absolutely Dara….the perfect option to satisfy those sweet cravings in a healthy way!

Rosa

Yum!
Lovely sweet and salty combination and thanks for sharing about Stevia Powder. I didn’t know that!
Your welcome Kankana! Sweet/salty combo is always a win!
These look fabulous, Marla! Love the dark chocolate and trail mix combo! Pinned!
I’ve been meaning to try stevia out. I always see it at trader joe’s and then forget to buy it. After seeing these truffles, I certainly won’t forget again!
What if I made it with sugar instead of Stevia? Would it still be 1 tsp.?
Oh boy these look sensational. I am so pinning these to make over here in Spain. No bake, so right up my alley w/ this heat. Great looking photos!!
These are so gorgeously styled, Marla. And paleo? Yes please.
Can you still call them skinny if you eat about 100 of them in one sitting? Because I’m pretty sure that’s what I’d do! Delicious!
These look delicious and I will have to try them!
I love these! What a wonderful treat!! Must make soon!!
Gorgeous, healthy, and perfect to pop one after the other! Snack time just got a whole lot sweeter π I love dark chocolate!
These are the most elegant snacks I’ve ever seen with the words “trail mix” attached to them! Absolutely gorgeous and love that I can inhale a handful without feeling guilty!

Deep dark rich truffles…yum! I’m digging the nuts and the currants for that bit of texture.
Love this beautiful paleo treat, Marla! Your recipe has all my favorite mix-ins and I like that you used stevia for sweetening. Stunning photography as always, girl! xo
