My kids are still talking about the amazing spring break we had last month in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The BC ski resort has become my home away from home & I was so excited to share my special place with my family!
The ski season was winding down, but that didn’t stop us from taking in every bit of winterΒ fun!
From the moment you enter the gates of Beaver Creek Resort you are greeted with a smile. My hubs & kids were amazed with how great we were treated no matter where we went.
Vail Resorts prides themselves on excellent customer service & they stay true to their promises.
We stayedΒ at one of my favorite hotels in the area…
The Osprey
If you read my blog often then you have learned that I LOVE staying at The Osprey hotel. Located just steps away from the Strawberry Park chairlift, it could not be easier to get your kids suited up & out the door. The food is wonderful & the helpful staff always greets with a smile.
The rooms are spacious, modern & cozy. This boutique hotel creates a homey yet pampered vibe.
Chef David Burton Sanchez & his team always keep us well fed.
There is a great breakfast buffet every morning & tasty menu selections as well. I stick with oatmeal, lots of fresh fruit, raisins & a big pat of butter.
My son on the other hand…ha! Breakfast of champions.
Let’s zoom in on that. A chocolate chip cookie & bacon.
On a more fine dining note, let’s look at this Colorado Trout prepared to perfection with butter, golden raisins, pine nuts & lots of fantastic flavor! The asparagus are a splendidΒ addition.
Back to food in a bit….
Ice skating
There is a large skating rink right in the village center.Β Everyone can skate or adults can enjoy the fireplace while the kids practice hockey stops and spins. My kids broke out their finest moves.
Skiing
We had a blast challenging ourselves on the famous Birds of Prey ski race course. The kids made quick turns & we were so proud of them! We also skied Vail which was a blast too.
With the Epic Pass you can ski any of the Vail Resort owned properties. Not only that, but you can track where you skied, vertical feet & purchase your on mountain photos as well. This passΒ keeps track of you all season! They also have a super cool online Epic Life magazine for you to check out.
This is a unique skiΒ passΒ ~ that makes a vacation so much easier & affordable!
Swimming
After skiing, cookies, ice skating & games at the hotel there was no stopping my kiddos. They LOVED daily swims.Β There were endless rounds of competitive cannonballs to see who could splash the highest. Both kids tied so there would be no fights π
Kids Activities
There are always fun kid specific events at the resort. The week we were there was the Beaver Creek Kids Spring Fest. There are free events scheduled through out the week to entertain the littles.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
My son could not stop talking about how excited he was for the 3:00pm cookies at the base of the Centennial lift. These warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies are unique to Beaver Creek. Everyday during the ski season you know where you need to be at 3pm sharp!
Excellent Food
Believe it or not my mind is always on the next bite. Here in Beaver Creek there are so many wonderful restaurants. Here are a few more we experienced:
Talons (on mountain dining)
This spacious restaurantΒ (500 seats) is a hot spot during ski season. They also hold events here in the summer. TalonsΒ is spacious, with indoor & outdoor dining options. The deck is a great place to party with friends or take to family, plenty of room to spread out with 6,700 feet of deck space! There isΒ are indoor & outdoor bars as well asΒ internationally inspired cuisine.Β You are sure to satisfy any craving.
This restaurant will be an amazing place to hang out & watch the 2015 World SkiΒ Championships, hosted by Vail & Beaver Creek ski resorts. Chef Curtis Cooper had a funΒ time sharing some tasty bites with us.
Hellooooo pulled pork. Prepared in the outdoor smoker. Serve with a cold one….
The EpicΒ Burger is a total win!
Last but not least….the Bratwurst was to die for!
Toscanini
We enjoyed a few meals at Toscanini (located right near the ice skating rinkΒ in the heart of the village.) Your kids can skate while you enjoy a date night. The atmosphere though elegant, is lively & informal. There are deliciousΒ dining options for the entire family.
This restaurant features fine wines & wonderful Italian food.
We tried may dishes & can’t wait to go back for more! The staff was superΒ helpful,Β helping us navigate the extensive wine list & pick out dinner.Β For the past 15 years, Toscanini has been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their 100% Italian wine list. That is amazing!
Hope yo see ya soon in Beaver Creek!

Hi Kelley! Isn’t it so fun there?! I’ve been having a blast getting to know the resorts better. They are each so unique. My family really enjoyed keeping the ski season alive even after T-Ride closed. My kids keep asking when they are going back π A great sign indeed. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip!

Hi Gaby! Oh girl will you have so much fun in BC this summer or what?!
This gave me a great idea for a winter vacation with my family. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome Suki! The folks over there make it super easy to plan vacations & their website is easy to navigate as well.
I’m an Australian and before my husband I were married we lived and breathed the winter driving buses for Avon at night and skiing Beaver Creek during the day. We desperately miss our Colorado home and can’t wait to travel back there with our kids in tow. For now we settle for the Australian ski season which is only 12-15 weeks long.
Hi Angie! That is such a sweet story. I can totally picture it! Not sure when you guys got sleep π Hopefully you can make it back soon with the kiddos.
What an incredible place to visit! Your photos are stunning!
