My favorite cocktails these days are spritzes, not only are they beautiful to look at, but they are refreshing cocktails. I hear that plenty of you are still in full on summer mode…beat the heat with these beauties. Enjoy a Strawberry Campari Spritz this weekend!
On my recent trip to Italy I sucked down about two spritzes per day. It’s the thing there to sit in the town square with all your friends with a bright orange Aperol Spritz or it’s red Campari cousin. I test drove a strawberry version in Venice & had to replicate it here at home!
So you know…Campari is an apéritif. It’s made by infusing herbs and fruit (including chinotto and cascarilla) in alcohol and water. It is a bitter and is characterized by its dark red, alluring color.
What is a spritz exactly? Other than a super fashionable drink….a spritz is a cocktail with a hit of sparkling water-to make it fizzy.
It feels like Italy in Colorado now! See ya later gators…I’m spritzing!
