Double Chocolate Buttermilk Scones

I love scones no matter what the season and no matter what time of the day it is. They are a great grab & go breakfast, perfect for brunch, delicious with a cup of coffee to perk you up in the afternoon…and even dang tasty as a bedtime snack. Around here we are chocolate lovers, so these Double Chocolate Scones are the best choco fix. I made these beauties with whole wheat pastry flour to make them a bit more healthy and added buttermilk to add to the crumbly texture.

Decadent French Vanilla Coffee Horchata

With the change of seasons, one of my all-time favorite things to do is celebrate with delicious timely ingredients. There’s nothing like a crisp fall or winter’s day. I love the chill in the air, bundling up in cozy, warm layers and drinking a piping hot cup of coffee. Sometimes I crave a decadent coffee treat and this recipe for French Vanilla Horchata is my go-to “IT” drink for the season. In it I use one of my all-time favorites from Dunkin’ Donuts- French Vanilla flavored coffee.

Some of you might be wondering what is horchata? Horchata is a Mexican beverage that is made with cinnamon, vanilla, and rice. You can adjust the sweetness according to personal preference. In this recipe I used sweetened condensed milk to make the drink a bit more decadent & to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings.

Just grab your favorite sweater, blanket and a big mug. Fall and winter sips are oh so sweet with this warming beverage. You can find this flavored coffee and the ingredients at your closest Walmart location. Invite some friends over and enjoy this drink with them, I’m sure they’ll love it too! #DunkinYouBrewYou

It’s so fun during the the holidays to make whimsical treats. These Donut Snowman Pops require only a few ingredients and lots of giggles while you make them. I was talking to my snowmen friends as I assembled them. This is a great edible craft to make with your kids. Kiddos will have fun naming them, dressing them and sharing them with their friends.

Crunchy Ginger Snap Cookies

Around here we love holiday baking. It’s fun to share freshly baked treats with friends who happen to stop by on a moment’s notice. If you are baking for a bake sale or cookie exchange this year, I recommend you bring these Crunchy Ginger Snap Cookies. These are a classic for the holiday season and my recipe here is pretty much the best I’ve ever had. You can make them big like I did or bite sized. Your call. These cookies are great dunked in milk, munched with coffee or sprinkled over ice cream. Share with Santa on Christmas Eve and I’m sure he will drop of the BEST gifts to thank you!

Chicken Posole

Posole or Pozole is a traditional soup or stew from Mexico. It’s the perfect dish for the cooler months as it warms you from the inside out. Posole is typically made with pork or chicken and always hominy. You will also find this dish widely in New Mexico…In this recipe I used a tablespoon of ground mild Chimayo to really boost the flavor. If you love spice, then take it a step further with the hotter version of the pepper. If you still have leftover Thanksgiving turkey, use it in this soup.

Happy Thanksgiving from Telluride, CO!

Traditions are awesome! As much as things change, it’s fun when there are tried and true standby’s to look forward too. Thanksgiving always happens the third Thursday of November and so does the opening of my hometown ski resort, Telluride, Colorado. To celebrate the grand opening, I wore my new pieces from Perfect Moment.

Today is the BIG day! I’ve been getting lots of texts and calls from my friends checking in with holiday cheer and looking for more delicious Thanksgiving recipes. Ones they can make in a pinch. I’ve been posting great ones all week…and I’m excited to share this awesome One-Skillet Green Bean Gratin with you today. With this recipe there is minimal fuss and the smallest amount of clean up, as this is make in a single cast iron skillet. So if you are already done cooking, congrats! If you still have a way to go, then totally whip up this gratin. You can also bookmark it for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, or anytime you crave a mouthwatering green bean casserole.

It’s less than 24 hours until Thanksgiving and everyone I know is still scrambling for the most mouthwatering recipes. I love this time of the year and all the excitement that surrounds it. Creamed spinach is a traditional side dish favored by so many…how about this year you mix things up with this Creamed Kale?
