There’s nothing like kicking off the week with a big noodley stir fry!
We are off to a big & busy week at the MM headquarters! I’m preparing for a quick trip to NYC at the end of the week for an NBC segment (more on that soon) and I’m making sure that my family will have all kinds of grab & go meals at the ready. My kids LOVE Pad Thai when we go to our favorite restaurant Siam Telluride, so I figured this would be a meal to remember while I’m in NY.

Here in the high country we’ve been dialing back our taste buds to the good old days. In college (I went to Syracuse University) there was a whole lot of Kahlua and Rumple Minze on the drink menu. University is long ago & these delights have been set aside for other libations. Not any more…it’s time to bring these liqueurs back into the limelight! My Kahlua Mint Kiss Martini will do just that. A simple cocktail recipe that will warm you from the inside out & might even bring back some of those fun college memories.

‘Tis the season for lots and lots of baking…especially holiday cookies. These Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Cookies are drop dead delicious! Go start those ovens…you need these with a cup of coffee now!
With long days at school & on the ski hill my kids come home starving!! These cookies offer something a little more than the average cookie, they are packed with gobs of peanut butter & jelly in the middle. If you are looking for a fun food craft to do with the kids this is perfect. They can help flatten the dough & cut out shapes. They also will love to smear on the PB&J!
Instead of using regular brown sugar in these I used crunchy turbinado sugar. I love it’s subtle crunch in baked goods.

I made the choice in my life to live full time in the mountains. They fascinate, empower & thrill me. There’s nothing that excites me more than being around a group of like minded people. People who revel in their magic too. Early this November I visited Banff in Alberta Canada for the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival. I spent an epic week there exploring the region & enjoying all aspects of the Mountain Film scene. This was the 40th anniversary of the festival & the energy was vibrant! It was a week of self discovery set in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

If there’s something I’ve completely fallen in love with this holiday season is these Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. OMG they are so delicious & I promise you will lick the bowl to enjoy every last bite! Here in the mountains we need food that sustains long days on the ski hill. These potatoes do just that and the added spice warms you up from the inside out. What’s with the pomegranate seeds?
