Here we are on the cusp of another long weekend. Friends can you tell me this….where is the time going? Around here it is buzzing by which is a good thing. I love to keep really busy and it means each day brings me closer to our summer trip to Telluride. I crave the cool mountain air, long hikes and “fishing” with my kids in the local pond. For now let’s think about goodies for the 4th of July, shall we? Remember my thing is to bring you sweet with health So do not hesitate for one minute to dig in.
Yes, those are lollipops. Yes they are having a blast with them. The only thing that freaks me out about the passage of time is how quickly my kids are growing……my heart flutters at the thought. I couldn’t resist sharing these iPhone photos of them from the past few years.
We love berries here and they tie in perfectly the July 4th color palate. Today we have Red, White and Blue food folks.
Here is our summer home in East Hampton. Just kidding. It is someones summer home in East Hampton. Lucky ducks.
Here is my Very Blueberry Layer Cake that also happens to be gluten free. The great news it is perfectly suitable for dessert and breakfast too. Lucky us.
Ok, cherries aren’t berries but they sure do show off summer! A fun treat using sweet summer cherries is Cherry Applesauce Parfaits. Homemade applesauce and thick Greek yogurt, a great snack for anytime.
For those of you who have been around a while Mixed Berry Parfaits show up a lot around here.
Champagne Pudding with Berry Sauce keeps in the holiday theme too. The Champagne adds an unexpected twist to a classic.
Here are two kinds of blueberry muffins each equally fabulous. This one is not gluten free, the next one is. These are Pomegranate Blueberry Coconut Muffins.
Here they are again with cream cheese frosting……
These are my latest Gluten Free Blueberry Lemon Muffins and they are addictive to say the least!
Let me give strawberries a moment of love too….Gluten Free Strawberry Whoopie Pies.
Berries and Goat Cheese Mini Pizzas always satisfy.
Of course any kind of berries out of hand is fabulous too!
Other than the fruit in these recipes they are sugar free. Yay for that!
Happy July 4th friends. What will you be doing to celebrate?

Marla, that’s my house!! Ha… a girl can dream, right?! I have a friend who is from the Hamptons — so interesting to hear her perspective of growing up in the Hamptons as a regular person!
I love the roundup — all the gluten free goodies! I’m actually in the midst of a gluten free trial diet, so this is perfect.
Liz, it is certainly a different world out there! Neat that you are going gluten free. Can’t wait to hear how it makes you feel 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Don’t worry, Marla, I’m 23 and I’m still Daddy’s and Mommy’s Little Girl. Just a bit more expensive and with more attitude. lol.

Ooo, I love berries too. This time of year we simply can’t get enough of them! What little cuties you have. Happy 4th!
My boyfriend and I went strawberry picking last weekend and cherry picking yesterday, so we have an overabundance of berries. Your recipies will definitely come in handy for us! They look absolutely delicious.
It was the first time I’ve been to a U-pick and I had a blast. If you’ve never gone, I highly recommend it – and I bet your kids would love it, too!
