Pasta with Salmon & Creamy Blue Cheese Sauce

I wanted to post another cocktail recipe today. But since I posted one on Wednesday I figured you probably need somethin’ to eat. Y’all  like pasta a whole lot and I came up with fine medley of carbs meets salmon & creamy blue cheese.

Let’t take a look…

Isn’t there some rule somewhere that seafood should not be pared with cheese?

I tend to disagree. Try this salmon with blue cheese sauce and you will too.

Do you like cilantro? I love it. Add a handful to this recipe for extra fresh flavor.

If you don’t dig it add some flat leaf Italian parsley. All’s good….they look the same but sure do have very different flavor.

What you got with this dish is comfort food mixed with a splash of gourmet flavors.

This pasta is perfect for family meals and al fresco parties. Enjoy it with some Skinny Strawberry Lime Punch.

It comes together quickly and the ingredients are super easy to find. Energy packed salmon balances out the heavier pasta really nicely.

Whip this up over the weekend or for those busy weeknight meals ~ make some extra for lunch too while your at it. Serve hot or chilled like a pasta salad.

Enjoy!

  1. Yes, I always hear from Italian friends that is a big no-no to pair seafood with cheese, but sometimes I just can’t resist. This sounds like something I could happily eat at least once a week.

  2. Blue cheese and salmon sounds wonderful, I bet smoked salmon will go great with blue cheese, too. I happen to have lots of really good smoked FRESH salmon in my refrigerator directly from Seattle seafood market. And thanks for linking to my recipe!

    1. Yum! I bet you get awesome salmon in Seattle. I always hear about your amazing markets and yet I have never been. Someday 🙂

  3. I usually add only shrimp with pasta but this does sound gourmet. And now that you mentioned about the cheese and fish pairing, I remember reading it somewhere. As long as the food taste good, who cares about all those rules 😉

    1. Exactly how I like to do things when it comes to cooking. If it tastes great…forget about “the rules.” Shrimp & pasta are always a great combo!

  4. Sounds very tasty to me! I’m running through my spouse’s favorites before he leaves, and we just polished off my salmon and artichoke dip. I think there’s room in the line up for another salmon dish.
    Wonderfully styled photos.
    Thanks!

  5. I’ve never combined any fish with cheese and it’s not something usual in our cuisine, but I trust your taste, I must give it a try!

  6. I know of a few Mexican dishes where fish is paired with cheese, and they’re WONDERFUL. But I’ve always been a rebel. This looks delicious!
