Grilled Cheese Party Bar!

This summer we threw my friend a birthday party with the best theme ever ~ Grilled cheese! That’s right friends. I suggest you do this at your next party pronto! We had every topping we could think of & invited our guests to build their own sandwiches that we then cooked up in lots of butter. Party perfection! As you might all ready know I love grilled cheese & could eat it 6X a day. I love the melty cheese, crispy butter fried edges…and everything about them! I’ve posted many grilled cheese recipes here on my blog & will continue to do so. My mind is always on grilled cheese. Grilled Corn & Hot Dog Grilled Cheese | A picnic on a plate! MarlaMeridith.com

Let’s break it down. How to throw the BEST Grilled Cheese Party….
  • Have a great variety of cheese & tempting ingredients easy to reach at a well laid out bar
  • Think outside the box: have fruits, all kinds of condiments. Guests will surprise you!
  • Room temperature butter at the ready
  • Lots of bread choices including gluten free
  • Have each guest make 2 sandwiches. One for them to eat & the other will be cut up to share
  • Have one or 2 guests (or party host) working the griddle. in our case the host was a chef. Ideal!
  • Write down each of the recipes so you can remember what you loved!

  1. I never thought about all the possibilities with Grilled Cheese. We love Grilled cheese sandwiches in my house, and I want to try some of these awesome recipes. Thanks for sharing. The sandwiches look delicious!

  2. GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!! I once did a guacamole bar themed post but I am loving this idea almost more! You know I will be at this party, babysitting the griddle, waiting for my grilled cheese and sampling as many versions as possible! Pinned!

    1. Ha! I gotta say that my friend who was watching the griddle was having a ball! The samples were abundant and the vino made everything more festive 😉 Thanks for the pin LOVE!

  3. What a fun idea! Everyone loves grilled cheese. And we could make it even better with our homemade cheese! I’d make mine with some homemade bacon and pan-fried onions. Yum!

  4. This is brilliant! This might also work if you have a pannini press (though I am a butter in cast iron kind of gal myself)

  5. Love this idea! So easy and fun. My favorite so far would have to be the Chicken, Avocado, Tomato Grilled Cheese recipe!

  6. This is such an amazing party. We do most for school lunches except the greens. I never thought it would be a hit with kids. But I guess I’m wrong. It’s worth a try and take a note of works and what not. Thanks for sharing this brilliant idea.

  7. Yumm!! What a fun and delicious idea! Who knew that grilled cheese could look so glamorous too! Top-notch photos
