These recipes have all been big hits in my home and around the web. You have come back to me with some awesome feedback and variations. I love hearing how you make these recipes your own. If you try one of these take a photo and tag me on instagram @marlameridith I’d love to share your creations on my Insta Stories!
As the temps start to creep up it’s time to whip up frozen cocktails. As we are all still quarantining, this Boozy Frozen Lemonade or aka: Frozen Lemonade Quarantini should put a smile on your face. Bottom line is there’s a lot to fall in love with here. Very few ingredients are needed for pretty much the best frozen cocktail ever! Love lemon? Yes?! Then you will be smitten with this drink. Perfect on hot days by the pool and just as delicious when you are cooped up indoors dreaming about the pool! You will use this Lemon Simple Syrup in this recipe.
Have you ever tried something that tastes just like summer? It’s time to now. This Lemon Simple Syrup tastes like a warm, sunny bluebird day. It can be used in your favorite margarita, Tom Collins, Lemon Drop and even on pancakes and waffles. Pour some into soda water for a quenching lemonade. Got vanilla ice cream, maybe pound cake? Drizzle some over those too. Bottom line is…you’ve got options here!
Laid Back Loungewear for the Cozy-At-Home Lifestyle
Comfy is queen these days, working from and staying home is the absolute thing to do. During normal times, people are often bummed that they don’t have enough time at home to catch up on things. Well now we can all catch up on everything! It’s a great feeling to be cozy & look put together even when traveling from room to room. You never know when someone will invite you to a virtual gathering. Best to be prepared than not. I’ve compiled some of my favorite loungewear pieces for you. One of my all time favorite cookies in the world is the Linzer Tart. I fell in love with them years ago when I was skiing in the Austrain Alps. I love them so much that I included these cookies in my cookbook High Alpine Cuisine. These jammy cookies are beyond delicious. An ingredient that gives them their signature flavor and texture is almond meal. Just one cookie is filling like a meal! Pair with a piping hot cup of coffee and your favorite book or magazine.
The rules are changing every day, with COVID-19 spreading rules are getting tighter by the day. This makes sense as this coronavirus is an absolute BEAST. If you must head out, then a face mask is the accessory you need. You can make these DIY Pillowcase Face Masks with any expendable pillow cases you have on hand or any cotton fabric. Make sure you have at least 2 layers in your mask. It’s also important that you wash them in hot water after each wear. You can see how easy these masks are to make in this video.
Looking for your new favorite pasta recipe? I hope your answer is yes and you are now in the right place! This dish has your back, your entire family will love this easy, filling, tasty vegetarian pasta.
Spaghetti & Meatballs is one of life’s greatest gifts. There aren’t many meals as universally loved. This version I’ve made super easy for you, using less fresh ingredients than usual. I know that a lot of us are down to pantry items during this time of pandemic crisis. COVIN-19 continues to sweep the world and those of us at home need to stay home. That means we get to cook more and use what we have in the house without running to the market! This quick and easy recipe can go from prep to table in just 30 minutes. It’s protein packed and can easily feed a family or group of four.
We all need a little humor in this stressful time of COVID-19. It’s increasingly hard to avoid the new normal. Going to the grocery store requires gloves and face masks (or it should!) Hanging out in groups is a no no. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t still enjoy a cocktail and happy hour in our own home with our friends and family on Zoom. So here you have it. Sean (my BF) and I having fun with Champagne Punch. Enjoy!
If you ask me, one of my all time favorite comfort food recipes is banana bread. It’s one of the easiest things to bake (pretty much goof-proof) and it comes together quickly. I love mindless baking, especially living here in Telluride, CO at 9,500 feet. Here at altitude things can go sideways quickly. Thankfully that’s not the case with this recipe. This banana bread will work from sea level to way up high in the mountains.
Another banana bread perk is that you get to use up those overly brown bananas you might have no other use for. This is a “quick bread” recipe. What that means is any bread leavened with leavening agents other than yeast or eggs. In this case we use baking soda as the leavening agent. So with all this extra time we have on our hands right now with the stay at home order, enjoy baking up this delicious Cast Iron Skillet Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. Great for any time of the day when you have a sweet craving!
I’m always a fan of cast iron skillets. They are the best heat conductors and easily go from stove top to oven to the table. I use my 10″ and 12″ skillets daily.
With all the worlds chaos going on right now doesn’t it make the most sense to focus on little things that make us feel great again? Every time I slip into tie dye clothing or accessories they bring a smile to my face. Gone are the days of just hippy dippy tie dye, today you can shop for colorful pieces in in all types of styles. The one commonality is that they make you feel HAPPY! I’ll enjoy bliss any where I can find it. With stay at home quarantines going on, these pieces not only look super cool, but many of them are perfect for lounging around the house too. Once social distancing is a thing of the past these items will look great poolside, at the bar or at the cafe with friends. Happy shopping!
This Grateful Dead Dancing Bear sweatshirt is a head turner!
Here we are all together in this wild time of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. It means plenty of stay at home time for most of us. For some, especially our health care workers it’s a time like never before. They are working their tails off trying to save those already infected by this virus. It’s up to those of us at home to #staysafe and #stayhome to help prevent the spread of the disease. Staying at home means (hopefully) lots of cooking! You might come to a time where you have run out of perishable, fresh ingredients. Stay cool, you got this. It’s time to dive into the pantry! This delicious Pantry-Only Tex Mex Mac ‘n Cheese recipe will save you when you just can’t get out of the house.
