Blueberry Lemon Muffins – Gluten Free

Gluten-Free Blueberry Lemon Muffins | MarlaMeridith.com Two things you need to know before I talk about Blueberry Lemon Muffins. I have never had anything other than coffee at Panera Bread. I am part of a Gluten Free Panera Dream Day food blogger event. So I guess you could say, if they started baking up healthy muffins like these you might find me ordering something other than coffee. I received my assignment quite a few weeks ago and just noticed that it says “Wild Blueberry Muffins.” I sassed my version up with lemon.

Book Reviews

Plate to Pixel

Marla Meridith reviews the book Plate to Pixel

By now most of you have heard of (and probably own) a copy of Plate to Pixel. If not then you must. I need to take a moment to define this masterpiece. This book is a visual journey with lessons in digital food photography and styling. It is written by one of the most talented people this world has ever known, Helene Dujardin aka Tartelette. She has become a household name to any food blogger, cookbook author and food connoiseurs everywhere. Honestly my 7 year old daughter could tell you who she is, no joke. That is how famous she is around these parts.

I will walk you through this post with a journey through my own food photography and styling. Beware and be nice, this first collage is from the very beginning. We all need to start somewhere right?

Breakfast

Essential Travel Oatmeal

Budget travel breakfast recipe by Marla Meridith

I have to let you guys in on a little secret….even when I travel I stay on my game when it comes to food. Eating right at all times makes me feel great and there is no exceptions to that rule. I am a huge fan of breakfast and couldn’t imagine skipping my favorite meal of the day. I travel often and always pack these oatmeal packets, one baggie per day. Not only do I wake up before most hotels turn on their ovens (4am) but I don’t want to spend the money on room service eating mushy $20 oatmeal.

Here is a little insider look behind the scenes at the photo shoot  for Peko Peko, a charity cookbook for Japan. A few of us met up at Rachael’s house to assist for a fun day of cooking, styling and shooting pictures.

What is this book? A group of top food bloggers and cookbook authors have come together with Japanese inspired recipes (50 of them!) to help raise funds to benefit the people devastated by the earthquake and tsunami earlier this year. People want to help, but they don’t know how. Here is how…..

Participants need to keep the info secret until the reveal day. The blog that I was given is called Something New is Cooking. Michelle had made a Good n’ Easy Peach Cake, I came up with my own twist on her fun cake.
