12 Sinfully Delicious Recipes for Leftover Halloween Candy
Let’s face it…leftover Halloween candy happens. Maybe you hit up the sales too hard and have bags of bulk candy lying around. Or maybe your kids collected wayyyyy more than you want them to indulge in. My brother and I used to hide away stashes of candy so our parents wouldn’t find them. But they inevitably did, I guess we weren’t as sneaky as we thought. These 12 recipes make the most of those bits and pieces you don’t know what else to do with. Pass on some hand crafted goodies over to the neighbors, your kids favorite teacher or that UPS worker person who delivers all of your Amazon Prime packages.
We are busy waxing our skis here in Telluride, CO. Everyone is stoked for another fabulous winter in the high country. Though it’s not here yet we’ve been getting snow storms to get us in the mood for all the fun ahead! I’ve been lining up some great trips, so far we’ve booked on and off-piste touring in and around St. Moritz, Switzerland in January. We are also looking at Italy, I fell absolutely in love with Courmayeur last winter. Another region I’m smitten with is the French Alps…I spent a very short time in Chamonix last year and I really need to go back to explore the region further….with my BF Sean as Mountain Man and the Diva.
Last year I was a buddy for Ski.coms Epic Dream Job. I accompanied Jackson Lebsack, skiing and vlogging my way through Beaver Creek and Vail, CO. It was such a wonderful experience. I loved it so much that I’m applying again this year. The rules have changed a smidge this year but I figured it was worth a shot!
I’ve got a new twist to the story this year, the Ski.com folks are looking for two people to share in the Dream Job experience for each of the 6 chosen locations. Applicants were asked to create a video discussing why they think they should go to either Aspen Snowmass, Banff and Lake Louise, Big Sky, Jackson Hole, Chamonix Mont-Blanc and Niseko United. Because I’m lusting for a trip back to Chamonix that’s what we chose. Sean has never been to Europe and I figured this would be the best way to experience it. Think you have what it takes to score the job too? You have up until October 29, 2019 to apply.
Here’s our video application, hope you enjoy! Let us know what you think in the comments on YouTube.
Here’s the video I submitted last year that scored me the job….
Inspired by my recent trip to Round Top, TX I’m obsessing over everything vintage and pastel. It was so fun antiquing there and getting to meet the Junk Gypsy gals too! These Tie-Dye Patchwork Pumpkins pretty much sum up my current mood for pastels and tie-dye, who says Halloween has to be spooky?! (Though that’s fun too!) This is such a pretty way to decorate your home for the holidays. Super easy and fun!
It’s absolutely my favorite time of the year. Not only do I get to bundle up in my favorite cozy sweaters but it also means that winter is quickly coming around here to Telluride, Colorado. I know that many of you cringe at the thought of winter but ’round here we live to ski so the snow is always welcome.
Another thing I absolutely love about this time of the year is that I have every excuse to cook regularly with pumpkin again. I wanted you guys to have a brand new recipe for the season that’s simple to prepare and irresistibly delicious. Soooo, you’ve gotta try this Pumpkin Dutch Baby Pancake with Caramelized Apples recipe as soon as possible. It’s baked up in a 10 inch cast iron skillet (my favorite way to cook) I know you will love it too.
Don’t forget to whip up some Maple Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream because I know you’ll want a side of that too it’s so delicious. The caramelized apples on top of this beautiful pancake add so much rustic sweet flavor. I know a lot of us like to pick apples this time a year, so pick an extra few for this recipe.

Looking for an easy & delicious recipe that captures all those delicious, cozy fall flavors? Look no further than this Coconut Pumpkin Rice Pudding. It’s naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup and is also vegan & gluten free. That means you can feed a crowd and worry less about dietary restrictions.
The star ingredient in this dessert is Arborio rice, this is what’s used in risotto. That means this rice pudding is extra creamy. Another bonus is it’s all cooked in a cast iron skillet. My favorite way to cook just about anything these days. They look pretty and are great for heat retention. Here is the one to get by Lodge if you don’t have one of these beauties yet.
Sweater Weather! Beauties that will Keep you Warm & Stylish for Fall/Winter ’19
There’s nothing like bundling up in a cozy sweater on a crisp fall or winters day. Sitting at an outdoor café sipping your favorite spice latte and being all bundled up and warm is one of the best feelings in the whole wide world.
I love adding to my sweater collection each year, just a few new styles to freshen things up. I consider my sweaters investment pieces, they become essentials that I love to wear year after year.
M for Moncler! One of my faves for the season. Moncler $519
The great news is when you have an awesome sweater collection it becomes timeless… just be sure to take care of them and they will take care of you for years to come. Find the fibers that work best for you. I always love a cashmere sweater, merino wool and alpaca too. Virgin wool is great when I have a long sleeve shirt underneath to prevent the itchy wools from scratching me.
If you absolutely love cashmere but can’t stand the way it pills, check out this care guide by Chinti and Parker. Cashmere should be handwashed and this Wool and Cashmere Shampoo by The Laundress is a cult favorite. To remove those pesky sweater fuzzies/pills I use the Conair Fabric Defuzzer. It makes all my sweaters look like brand new!
So hop to it. Grab some new sweaters now, they are waiting for you. Catch them while you can as the favorites sell out quickly! Simply click the links below and shop all these fab styles right here….

If there something most of us absolutely love is a nice big serving of french fries. The only problem is they can feel heavy and super caloric really quickly. Also, a lot of folks I know (me included) don’t like to cook food in large quantities of oil. It’s messy and dumping the used oil can be annoying.
These quick and easy Oven Baked French Fries not only taste delicious but there’s minimal cleanup and they are way more healthy than the deep-fried versions. So whip up some fries as soon as you can, they are great anytime of the day if you are craving some crunch in your life! Simple to bake up a batch on busy weeknights too!
There’s nothing like holding onto your pumpkin spice latte with beautifully manicured nails. As much as I love changing up my fashion with the seasons I also enjoy all the new nail colors. You can go quite a few ways for the fall and winter with your color choices, you can go with you with elegant nudes and even some pastels. Add some jewel tones and metallics to the mix too! Just remember to have fun, mix-and-match and do dare to think out of the box. You might just find you love something new and unexpected.
Soups On! 10 Recipes to Help You Warm Up as the Days Cool Down
As the temps start to dip it’s time to start thinking about foods that warm belly and the soul. There’s nothing better than a steamy bowl of soup on a cool fall day.
There are so many benefits to enjoying soup. They can be really easy to prepare, you can fill them with all kinds of healthy ingredients, and they taste so dang great! If you love the mountains in the summer as much as I do then you might want to add Big Sky, Montana to your bucket list. This August my boyfriend Sean and I hopped in the car and took the 13 Hour drive from Telluride, Colorado to Big Sky. ( Follow us on Instagram @mountainmanandthediva ) It’s an epic drive and we enjoyed many pit stops along the way.
Lone Peak stands tall at 11,166 feet!
We were invited out for the Vine and Dine food and wine event. I had been counting the days until our departure. Spending a few days to re-charge in the mountains is the best thing I can think of.
BIG welcome to Big Sky…love the summer and definitely going back to ski in the winter.
I’ve been wanting to go to Big Sky for so long now and I jumped at the chance when we were invited to join in the festivities. We met so many great people and I really got to understand what this giant mountain is all about. It’s breathtaking in the summer and you can bet I’m gonna go back to ski in the winter.
Vine and Dine events were like taste expeditions….taking in stunning big mountain views with food and drink highlights. We tried local favorites and also so many tasty bites with an international flare.
There was a mixology seminar by the fabulous Death & Co. where we learned coveted new tips for our next cocktail party. They even hosted a speakeasy that was dark, mysterious and delicious.
We so enjoyed Pinot on the Peak!
You can choose from many events. There are seminars, receptions, dinners and even something called Pinot on the Peak, which was a favorite for many. At that event we took a tram to over 11,000 feet. The views were breathtaking! Saying “cheers” to each other and all our new friends with sparkling Pinot bubbly in hand was truly magical. Be sure to mark your calendar‘s for mid August… trust me you will be happy if you can make it to this spirited event at Big Sky!
I am obsessed with denim and pretty much always have been. So many colors, washes and styles are worth a closer look at this year. For fall ’19 I’m swooning over these jeans I’m wearing in the photo by Junya Watanabe. I love the idea of distressed denim mixed with frays and plaid fabric patches. If you want to go with a moripse simple, cleaner look then there are plenty of those too. How about leggy, curve hugging skinny jeans? If you don’t already, follow me on the easy to shop LiketoKnow.IT app. Everything you need (all my favorite styles) are right at your fingertips.
Don’t be fooled by classic mom jeans. They are hipper than ever with 90’s classic high waisted style. Whether your look is flared, straight legged, wide legged, boyfriend, skinny or cropped flares, there are plenty of options for all!
